Luísa Crippa
Founder, astrologer and author of the reading
New Era Astrology was founded by Luísa Crippa, an astrologer and the creator of a methodology that translates the birth chart with depth and application to real life. The methodology was built from more than 3,500 readings she did personally, over the course of her professional practice.
Every text of the Year Map reading, from the first chapter to the last, was written by her for the positions of the sky. The site calculates the sky of the minute your year begins; the reading is hers.
“You did not come here by chance. You came because some part of you already knows it is ready to understand what you are living.”

The methodology
The solar return and the transits, over your birth chart
The solar return is the sky of the moment when the Sun returns to the exact point where it was when you were born. That moment happens near your birthday, every year, and draws the theme of the year that begins there.
The Year Map calculates that sky for the city where you will spend your birthday, places your birth chart on the outside and shows, month by month, when each transit asks for attention.
That is why the reading is not a list of positions: it is 11 chapters, each one about a theme of your year, in the order you will read them, and the last one closes the reading. The themes are these:
- 1. The sky of your year — the transits of the slow planets that open your year and what each one moves
- 2. The rising sign of the year — the mood of your whole year: the stance it asks for, what it unlocks and what you are here to live
- 3. The element of the year — how your natal rising sign talks to the rising sign of the year and the tone this gives your months
- 4. The queen or the king of your journey — who rules your year, what it asks of you and in which area of your life it will act
- 5. Where the year happens — in which area of your birth chart the year happens
- 6. The 12 areas of your year — each of the 12 areas of your year: the sign that colors it and the planets that act on it
- 7. Sun, Moon, Part of Fortune, Lilith and Node of the year — where the Sun and Moon of your year act, where your luck is, what Lilith asks of you and the mission of the year
- 8. The slow planets in you — the houses of your chart that Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto cross this year
- 9. Eclipses, retrogrades and returns — the eclipses, retrogrades and returns, when your year has them: what they close, revise and begin
- 10. Your year, month by month — the year on the calendar and your year month by month, with the dates in the local time of your birthday
- 11. Closing — the closing letter from New Era Astrology that ends your reading
The calculation
The sky of the minute your year begins
The Year Map is calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris, the same calculation used by professional astrologers, with Placidus houses. The solar return is the exact minute when the Sun returns to the degree where it was when you were born, calculated for the city where you will be on your birthday. The time of your birth is converted with the time zone and the daylight saving time of your city on the date you were born.
Without the time, the site calculates with noon and tells you on screen what is approximate. The transits, the eclipses and the retrogrades are still right; the rising sign of the year, the element, the queen or the king and the houses are estimated. Before buying, redoing it with the time from the birth certificate is free. After buying, talk to us with the time from the birth certificate and we will correct your Complete Year Map.
